Indian Motorcycle Benelux is proud to announce a sponsorship deal with Dirt Track Lelystad. The agreement, which runs through 2019, will see the Indian Motorcycle logo on banners and flags displayed prominently around the venue.
The package also includes an Indian Motorcycle display stand at race events and access to the venue and track for activities such as press days, photoshoots and Indian Motorcycle Riders Group events.
Lynda Provoost, Marketing manager for Indian Motorcycle Benelux said of the deal, “We have a really good relationship with the team at Dirt Track Lelystad. It’s not just sponsorship, but a true partnership and we are really looking forward to organising exciting events together as part of this agreement. We have already held a very successful press day at the track and we look forward to bringing the thrill of flat track racing to even more people.”
Dirk Pieper, the owner of Dirt Track Lelystad added, “We are very happy to be part of this partnership. With the long and successful history of Indian Motorcycle in flat track racing, I can’t think of a better partner to be working with to promote the sport in Europe.”
Flat track racing is growing in popularity at a very fast past in the Benelux region with the number of visitors to Dirt Track Lelystad increasing constantly since its 2017 opening. In 2018 the short track ¼ mile oval played host to several racing events including three rounds of the Hells Race series and the Flatlands Festival which was won by ‘Shrimp’, the modified Indian Scout Sixty of Anvil Motociclette. With multiple events already in the race calendar for 2019 attracting riders from across Europe, Dirt Track Lelystad and Indian Motorcycle are looking at the opportunity to organise an additional flat track event for 2019.
As well as racing events, Dirt Track Lelystad promotes and develops the sport with try-out sessions, a flat track school and free training. These activities, which include bike rental, allow riders to get to know a dirt track bike, the track and receive expert tuition from flat track riders Jan Simon Ter Heide and Maikel Dijkstra. Dijkstra, who is the best flat track rider in the Netherlands, a DTRA racer and has competed in American Flat Track events, also uses Dirt Track Lelystad as his training base.
